Looks like folks are shy when someone mentions networking ,traffic or SEO...I get all my knowledge from a 24 year old. He's smart and knows what he's talking about. You could promote your site through social bookmarking and through the use of Google adsense. Alternatively you could participate in forums and use your web site as your signature.

You could google "ways to advertise free". There are lots of ways to do that, both online and offline. Do you have any business cards made up to distribute?

Google adwords, and classified ads in newspapers.
Plus if your site has a wide audience,
put flyers in letter boxes and under car wipers and were ever else you can think of.
