I have had horses my whole life too...the horse I mentioned above has only been with us a year though..he is alot of fun to work with..I rode with search and resque for many years when I was younger and this horse would have been great for that...
It's pretty amazing how horses are so different from one another , like your horse would have been great search and resque , I would think a horse would have to be very patient and strong to be able to stand the 'toil' of slowly covering lots of ground while searching ,,some horses seem to have to be 'doing' something ,,being put thur paces or pushing cows or being trained ,,is what I mean.
My grandpa raised the horses we used on the ranch until he got to old to work them ,then we bought a few now and then,,
We bought a 'ranch horse' that was scared to death of cows he was the most gental and easy riding horse you could ask for till he seen a cow ,he almost got my uncle hurt when a cow run out of a little bunch of brush right in front of them ,he started backing up and came close to falling back wards down the bank of a canyon,, my grandpa sold him to a family in town with kids and they just loved him and he never had to see another scary ole moo cow again ,
Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison
