I need some help, we're looking to book our honeymoon (Starting September 19th 2010 for 7 days) and we want to go somewhere interesting that we can go and see things and enjoy the trip and being in each other's company while 'doing stuff' Neither of us are particularly lie on the beach kinda people.

I thought of Cairo for the Pyramids etc but it doesn't seem to scream out to Greg as something he wants to do. Therefore I am stumped for ideas and need help

I don't fancy being 9/10+ hours away as we won't be taking the baby and should anything happen I'd like to get back fairly quickly.

That's exactly what I thought, but with the heat out there we decided against that. What about Italy?

What about a treck around italy. Spend a few days in each town along the Amalfi coast?

South Africa is 10hrs away and it's packed full of things to do and see. From Cape Town with the amazing wineyards and beaches up to the more advertourous parts where you can go on safari.

I did Budapest a few months ago. There isn't much to do there. After 3 days you will be so bored unless you like hanging around in pools. Truely great place for a weekend but not for 7 whole days.

My mum came back from Spain only a few months ago. She almost got mugged, but Mark fought off the batsrads and she saw people injecting god knows what into their arms in the streets. She swears she will never go to Mainland spain again.

Spain is south of France and has coastline on both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea.

Tourist Spain is boring, lets face it. It's been ruined by the Brits. If you're going to go to Spain you need to get away from the tourist hubs and experience real Spanish life.
