Adolf Hitler has gone down in History as evil. does he deserve that title, on the one hand he killed six million Jews, blacks, communists, gypsies, gays and homeless people on the other he got rid of unemployment and had a cool 'tache.

what do you think?

(this is supposed to be a humorous topic so if you choose to defend Hitler we will know that you are in no way racist (unless you genuinly are) or crazy)

I am not sure if "evil" is a good word for him. Mentally ill maybe. The way he went about it, and killing so many innocent people. Millions. He was power hungry among other things. I could go on, but won't.

He was a genius by text book, but i suspect he must have suffered from some sort of messiah complex or something

He was a brillaint orator and politician, shame about some of his more "extreme" views.

A lot of the extreme views and actions attributable to Hitler are actually those of his generals. Hitler laid out some very high level plans, such as "remove all Jews, do what you need to". He did not directly say "kill all Jews", it was his staff that decided that. Hitler was not a man to go back to and question, so they went about acheiving the task in the best way they could think of.

I'm in not defending Hitler with this statement, just passing on a little nugget of information I learned a few months back. Undoubtedly racial cleansing by any means - deportation, execution, marginalisation leading to attrition - is evil.

We have a nutter here in Ireland called Ian Paisley who has many similarities with Hitler.

This guy had no great future ahead of him. Went to the US and bought himself a title Rev. Formed his own church, has very extreme views, is a very good orator and has many people who blindly follow him.

lol, well i actually find this topic really really interesting! i've been learing about him for ages now. i think that Hitler was a genius! i know that what he did-in world war 2 and before maybe was terrible-but i think he was absolutely brilliant at what he did-apart from that. he had a messed up life, i guess it wasnt just the art thing! i think it's incredible how he was once living on the streets begging for money, and few simple but ingenious plans later-his ruling a whole country! he did help sort out a lot, he may have just got a tad carried away.....ok a lot! i dont think he is misunderstood, i dont think what he did to all those people can be interpreted in too many ways, and i do think he was evil, and i think he got what was coming to him, but it was definately a waste of a very clever mind.
