So i drew a picture, it was of dripping clocks and someone screaming with some flowers and a woman with an 'enigmatic' smile....

LOL I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Dali, Munch, and Davinci (were they alive) would be flattered . . . maybe?

I have respect for it because it's a cultural thing but I don't like the idea of being trained to judge art based off of some famous dudes work. Like for example, a monet might look alright, but slap a million dollar price tag on it and its the most beautiful work of art. My question is, who decided that particular painting was just that good and why?

I respect history because without it we would be nothing, It makes us who we are! Although, having a chip on your shoulder about events that happened 400 years ago is very daft! this generation shouldn't hold on to the grudges and prejudices of previous ones!

The thing about history is that despite the fact that we know it, we tend to repeat it anyway. And then who have all the lies, cover ups and fabrications that come with it so no one knows the true story. But art history is pretty much for career artists that take an interest in that sort of thing. I don't care for it myself but I respect that someone does.
