Ich lerne (learn is english) seit 4 Monate.

Well I wrote that first thinking it was right, then I ddint want to look stupid so I put it into a translator to check if I was write and then put down what the translator said as I thought it was more likely to be right than me, obviously not. Silly translator!!

Translators usually mess up if you put in more than one word.

Eigentlich ist das:

Ich lerne seit 4 Monaten Deutsch.

'Monaten' is capitalized because it is a noun. The word 'seit' (since) signals dative case, which means that all nouns following it end in 'n'.

In this sentence, 'Deutsch' is used as a noun and must also be capitalized.
