Do you ever acknowledge the voices back, even though they just repeat what you say? B/c I think that would be the worst thing you can do. I wonder if seeing a psychiatrist would help?

You need help, period. There are meds that can control those voices. I would suggest getting help from a Mental Health Doctor asap. The sooner you begin treatment the sooner you will find relief. You are not alone there are many many people who also suffer from this and live good productive lives. This is not something you can take care of yourself because it will not go away by itself. Medication for schizophrenia is a bit of a lucky dip. What drug combinations/dose works for some people has no effect on others and some people find the side effects to be quite severe. Depends on the type of schizophrenia as well.

My advice: keep seeking help through whatever means you choose, and persevere with it. If the meds aren't working go straight back to your GP/psychiatrist. Persistence is the key here. Don't suffer in silence - talk to anyone and everyone you feel comfortable with.

I've looked after many people with this problem, and although I don't have an idea of what you experience, I have seen the effects and know about the stigma and how terrifying it can be.

Yea i need help and they deleted my thread.

Yeah you can get these voices under control with prescription meds. When I did my rotation in the psychiatric ward, the patients I was dealing with, had similar problems, but they were controlled on medications.

Like the other person said, I wonder the same thing, are these voices actual spirit voices and modern medicine fails to acknowledge that.

Either way, go and see your doctor, it can be controlled.

i have a friend who has the same problem...
she just carries around an ipod with one ear phone in and just goes about with her life...she says the music distracts her brain from creating the voices or something like that...
it seems to work for her which isnt to say it would work for you

Fisrt of all, the 'meds' a doctor will give you are taken in such huge amounts for a short period of time 'one year' genrally and then they will do blood work to see if they are even the right meds for you if not then its another year on some other kind or if the doc thinks the first meds are working then its several months changeing the doses to see what may work etc...

and those same meds have the side effects of server derpression and sueicide thoughts if a oerson misses as few as to doses they can and will go 'off the deeo end ' and it takes more stronger different meds to 'stableize ' them,, my son has been taking the meds i'm talking about since he was 18 and he is 31 this last march,,,
A little test just to see if you feel different,,
Now just to see if maybe it is your guides trying to communicate with you , you did say its the same voices all the time right ? Do what is called G&P. gound and protect
find a comfortable quite place , sit stand or lay down whatever,, start at the top of your head imagine ing the energy travelimg down to the neck in your mind picture it going all the way to the bottom of you fet taking all the 'non positive stuff with it picture it sinking into the mother earth and being filterd clean. then think of every body or thing in your life you care about,, suround them in White light, ,, If you have very postive and comforting feelings about the voices after this then research and learn how to communicate with your guides ,, if not ,find a pill pushing doctor and start treatment.

I would try and listen to what they say to you...maybe someone is trying to tell you something. I would suggest going to see john edward, he has a show on tv and people seem to think he really works. You should get his book and read it or look his name up online. Maybe there is something he can do for you. good luck
