29/F/Swannanoa, North Carolina Join Date: Sep 2008 | I think I'm up to 16 now. I have been learning tattooing for a little over a year now, so I've been working on myself. To me tattooing is an art, I'm not in it to make money, but a lot of people get into it because they think they'll make lots of money and also for the status of being a tattoo artist. If you decide that you want to get something, research the artists in your area, ask to see their portfolio. You'll be able to see from the work they've done whether or not they are actual artists or jut tracing flash, also every artist has their own style. Research as much as you can. If you are just not sure of what design you want, you just know you want a tattoo, WAIT. You'll know when you find what you want, there wont be any doubts. If you get one with doubt in your head you'll probably regret it later. Laser removal is available, but from what I've seen it leaves a lot of scar tissue and it won't get ALL the ink out. It also hurts far worse that the tattoo, and costs around $200.00-$900.00 per session, and you'll need more than one. A cover up is usually costs less. I think a lot of people go ahead and get something with the thought that it can just be removed later if they don't like it. About half of the work people want from me if cover up work, so when someone wants to have me work on them I spend a lot of time helping them with the design and making it a personal, custom piece. I spent 5 years planning my own back piece. And I will never regret it. | | |
