Does anyone here straighten their hair regularly? i do, and im just getting conscious that it's damaging my hair. I was wondering if anyone has straightened their hair for so long that their hair has become damaged.

i straighten my hair every once in a while. I got my hair highlighted 2 weeks ago and even the person who was doing my hair at the hair salon straightened it so if they straighten their hair everyday i guess it's not too awfully bad.

It's not that bad, if you use heat protecters!
but yeah there was this one lass, and she could pull her hair out at the bottom as it was so dry and damaged! but when you get it done at the hair dressers they always use heat protecter so you should check that out.

I use to straighten it all the time. I used this heat protection spray that worked really well, I think it was put out by V05. That was until I got it Japanese straightened. Now I just go back once a year or so for touchups

yep i think too much straighten hair could cause to be damaged , specially if we don't do it in correct way.
a friend of mine used to straigh her curly hair regulary that somehow it became unfresh ,untill she got hair dresser is advice how to do properly.
so , if you think your hair become wrose then you simply can go to any hair dresser to get their view of point since this is there job.

Oh and yeah it damages your hair, mostly split ends. Get shampoo and conditioner for dry/damaged hair, use heat protection, and don't do it like every day.

Me too!

I have REALLY thick hair, so it would take me hours to straighten it by myself. If you do it all the time, and you want it to stay that way, get the Japanese thing done. It damaged my hair a bit, but I went back two days later (after you can wash your hair) and had a treatment done and it was fine.

It's a Japanese technique. Permanent hair straightening. It stays straight until your hair that hasn't been straightened grows in and you cut the treated portions off. It's a bit expensive but if you look for a while you can probably find a good deal.

I used to for about six months back when i had long hair, and i literally got a couple of compliments every day about how soft and shiny it was, and i had less split ends than my girlfriend. Never gave me any issues. I cut it and donated it to Locks of Love, tho.

If you start having issues with it, than cut down on it, or switch shampoos, which you should do about every month anyways. I used Thermasilk Shampoo/Conditioner. I'm used to be like a girl when it came to my hair.

Hair straigtening looks good, but only on Asians.

^ My opinion, so go ahead and flame me.

I am white and I straighten my hair. If I dont I look like a freak cause my hair is huge and fluffy. Even after straightening it people sometimes say wow how did you get so much volume in your hair? my avatar pic is my hair straightened.

there is a big chance that your hair will be damaged if you regularly straighten your hair.
