I think its a little sexist for people to think that its wrong to hit girls and its okay for girls to hit guys.

a girl can tell people her bf pissed her off so she punched/slapped him and they laugh.

i watched an episode of jeremy kyle once where it had domestic violence on. The men who came out got ripped the s**t out of them for it, a woman comes out who hits her bf, and all jez says is "i cant condone what you do to him, its wrong" then ends up blaming the man saying he provokes it and should give her more attention. makes me mad.

im with you there havnt read anyone else's replies but youve just said all that needs to be said, theres no excuse for it and it will not be tolerated in modern society, cowards like that dont deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of us, then again air is a privellage which can be taken away (nudge nudge)

slapping for no good reason is not acceptable. I'm not saying that there's no people who deserves to be slapped in the face, I'm saying that when you want to beat up somebody, have a really good legitimate reason. (like helping your friend who's getting abused by their partner.)
Beating your wife (or husband) is not a good way to guarantee a healthy life.
It is, however, an excellent way to end up in the hospital of at the bottom of a lake when they decide they've had enough and retaliate.

domestic violence is never good, and though i expect it men are getting it too sometimes, im sure the women get it worse in general. This is often cause of male agressiveness, possible a primal instinct to be the alpha male of a group (which does not exist in society, but does in the wild), the leader; and since there are no males to show "yeah, im the boss" the guy has to take it out on the female, either to show his domanance to her or to show other males "dont f-k with me".

Or maybe the blokes just not right in the head...?

I think the men who feel they need to hit women are insecure losers. What kind of a man needs to feel powerful by hitting a women? Not a real man. A real man does not hit a women no matter what (unless maybe this woman is trying to kill you with a knife or something along those lines).

I find personally that whoever does the violence hether it be woman or man! They both must have had major issues as a child that didn't get properly sorted out!

this creates a great deal of frustration which they then later on may well vent out on either themselves or other people. Sadly though most people tend to lash out on those close to them!

It's very unjust and should not be allowed, that's why I thouroughly believe that if you do have anger issues or have pproblems that you need to tell someone about but can't///go see a councillor!

I can't understand why most people think that if you go see a councillor/shrink that you're clinically insane! you're not, you have an issue you need sorting!!!!
