I started reading this book called Go Ask Alice it is really quite Good. I would recomend it to anyone 14+ years of age. I guess that is why I am 13 right?? LoL. Has anybody read it? It is about a Drug abuseing (Junkie) who is 15 when the satory starts and 17 when it ends.

SPOILER WARNING
In the epilouge it says "The Subject of the story died just three weeks after making the choice not to write another diary.

I REALLY REALLY like this book. It's really interesting how someone so young can keep such a really good diary, though it is sad that someone so young could be pulled into drugs.

I have read this book, like, five times.

It really shocked me that it said she died after agreeing not to make a diary. It makes you wonder how or why she died. It sort of leaves you hanging, that's the only part of the book that I don't like.

I read this when I was about 12, after I finished I was totally depressed. But it's a really good book, sad though.

Believe it or not i got this book free with a magazine back when i was about 15. I read it and i was amazed at how complelling (even for a teenager) its format made it. The poor girl didn't stand a chance and it just goes to show the power our youngsters have over each other.

Peer pressure is a very dangerous thing and this book teaches a valuable lesson, if you pressurise someone into doing something for the sake of being popular then you must accept the consequenses of those actions.

Popularity isn't the be all and end all, true friends love you for who you are, your individuality.
The channel 4 programme Pleasureland also depicts this kind of story but it is about teenage sex as opposed to drug abuse.

Go ask Alice is a lesser known book that really should be used widely to demonstrate the damage that drugs today can do to the life of an innocent and told by one of the very innocents they destroyed.

Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your own living room

The only problem with this 'diary' novel is that it's a fake. It was written by a Mormon therapist (can't remember her name right now) who admits it is based on one of her clients. It utilizes a few actual diary entries and the rest is heavily made up and VERY slanted to be anti-drug. The same therapist also wrote Jay's Journal which is about Satanism. The client it was based on has blasted it for being 99% fiction.
