Drink water upside down while saying your ABC backwards and spinning a plate on your foot....works for me

With a paper cup drink the water from the opposite end of the cup.

I wonder who.. um...

I wonder what, exactly, the thought process that led them to try this out was.

I'd like to know whether the person with the hiccups or the person trying to find the cure came up with it.

I just close my eyes, and focus completely on making my each breath as steady and even as possible. It usually gets rid of my hiccups within a few seconds.

sit down and place both of your hands on top of your head.
I know this works as my brother is confined to a wheel chair & its the only thing that does the trick with him.
Have also had a good sucess rate with my three kids too. After all you can get hick ups and ther is no where to get water from! LOL

This has worked every time for me:

Use your thumbs to plug your ears and your index fingers to plug your nose. Then use the rest of your fingers to hold a gla** of water and drink a minimum of three swallows with your nose and ears plugged.
