It is for some people, though if you have a job it's apparently easy to get a working visa.

Frankston is fine! It is like anything there is good and bad. It has great shops, is central to everything, good beaches, heaps of public transport. night clubs, resturants, parks, It's really like a mini city

I wouldnt worry it is what you make of it and you will meet heaps of people!

Good Luck!

I used to live in Frankston many years ago. Back then it was a pretty rough area with lots of louts getting around.
I only went back once since then and it looks like it has cleaned up its act. The whole area is very nice; you only need to drive a few minutes and you are in the countryside. You are on a peninsula so there is ample water around to play in. There is a direct city link rail into the city which is about an hour away.
Thats about all I can say really. It's one of the nicer areas to live in Melbourne with the countryside, the Bays and city living.
Here's an official website that may provide some useful info for you.

Frankston isn't so bad so long as you stay away from the area around the train station. There are so many things to do around Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula that you won't have time to worry about living in Frankston.

I didn't end up living there, but I visited a couple of times. It's alright, though i found it amusing to hear Classical Music playing over the tanoy at the Train Station!

Prefered Sandringham where I stayed whilst I was there.

yeh mate i used to live in narre warren which is kinda next to frankston its a weird thing but frankston has a really bad name for drugs its on the beach which normally means expensive and upper cla** to a degree anyway but there is a couple of methadone clinics in frankston and that brings prices right down a lot of pub fights too anyway all the best

A number of women were murdered there several years ago by some serial killer who used to live in the area but he has been caught and is locked now and i dont think he is coming out any time soon.
