The apprehensions you may have regarding your daughter/son’s use of the internet: chat lines, forum sites, and instant messaging (msn, yahoo etc) are understandable. The internet and online communities have essentially given children and teens access to what was previously a predominantly adult environment. The dangers here are obvious.

That is why The Forum Site is heavily moderated. Many of our moderators are parents themselves and have the same concerns you do. Be assured that any sexually explicit material, racist or sexist remarks or posts containing offensive language will be quarantined immediately. We make every effort to ensure a consistently safe and enjoyable web experience for not only new, inexperienced members but also for experienced TFS members.
It must also be said that younger member's posts are moderated more closely for obvious reasons.
However, we must inform that adult topics are often open for discussion and as per "Terms of Service" these threads are closely monitored and every effort is made to ensure that member's privacy and integrity are protected.

However, our advice to parents is as follows:

1. Keep the house computer where it can be monitored by adults
2. Regularly check your daughter/son's internet session using the pop down address bar

3. In an enquiring way, speak to your child/children about the sites they visit and the kind of information they access

Please be aware that The Forum Site is NOT an internet chat line. Messages posted on TFS are accessible to the entire internet community. NO messages are instant and ALL messages (apart from PM's*) can be accessed by conducting a TFS search.
