Hi guys, just put up whatever solo is your favourite from any track :guitar, bass, drums

If you can, put up a link to somewhere people can hear it (youtube etc.)

I'll start us off.

My favourite solo ever would have to be Moby Dick, drummed by John Bonham

Perhaps thats your view from a punk stand point where they don't seem to have any solos. Go stir the pot somewhere else hippy.

For guitar i love hendrix and star spangled banner, its just so funkified with ginger barker (spelling) on drums. There are so many from the new wave of guitar hero's though from Trivium to bullet for my valentine and many others people are becoming superior at there instument of choice so it can only get better as far as solos go.

Yep, he made the end of the 60's super, i got his greatest hits and woah, they were golden.

There are so many good solo's though, coming from a stroke of genious, too many really pin down a best one. Im glad for the solo, i mean where would music be without it.

Hard to say dude, certainly in alot of rock music the guitar solo is the high point of the song. Its sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing. All depends on where your coming from.

Personally, and Im gonna be biased, I wish more songs had drum solos and/or ba** solos. Sometimes the guitar gets all the limelight and its not fair really cos the other members of the band are talented too.

Hendrix was one of several exceptions, obviously.

Awesome dude, yeah paranoid is a pretty cool song like. They have loads other great songs too, especially cos Tommy Iommi puts like an echo on his guitar and it sounds like there are two guitars playing the same solo. Fantastic.

I can see where your coming from, guitar does get all the attention but in the end it really does need the rest of the band there. I liked Bloc party for drums, they were tactical and paceful with real intricacy. For ba** you gotta have the flea from Red hot chilli peppers, he is really good.
