I have a WD 1TB essentials external hard drive.
I am having problems with it not liking any files over a certain size and refusing to let me store them on it, it's not like these are 30GB files but they're just 2 or 3 GB FRAPS recordings.
Can someone tell me how to remove this restriction?

You will need to format the drive using NTFS m8, this will then allow for larger file sizes.

In a few weeks I hope to get mine running at full capacity again, new processor and Windows 7.
Hoping to try get an x64 version but I'm not entirely sure yet. (8GB RAM sounds really nice)

I bought a new one not too long ago with the 64 bit Q6600 quad core cpu. I am also using the 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate and have to say that its the best operating system I have used so far. I have used from Windows 95 too, lol.

I have a Q6600 right now, but it's no good for gaming.
looking for a bit more speed.
I also need a lot more stuff but it's all just too expensive
