This may sound funny and a bit foolish and I admit it is a bit of both, but does anyone ever wish they had a form of schizophrenia?

Imagine voices not your own talking to you in your head.
Imagine seeing people infront of you just as real and defined as yourself and being able to have a conversation with them.
Yet they are just a product of your mind.

Imagine being in both the real world and one of your imagination, both being so real you cant tell the difference.

Schizophrenia show us how an imbalance of chemicals can allow our brains to do things people cant do even with lifetime training.

I wish I had a form so I could try to controle it...experiment with it.

No and i doubt the people suffering with the awful mental illness would think so either.

Bit of a s**tty thing to wish for, people with this illness live with fear most of the day.

Crap thread!

No, but I often wonder what it is like to be a person with it. Wondering what goes through their mind... or minds . I do find psychiatric disorders fascinating as to what the mind can go through (perhaps I'm missing my calling in the pyschological field).

But I'd never wish it upon myself or anyone else.

Tell it like it is.

Gotta agree with you there though, I definitely wouldn't want it at all.

I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place, Even your emotions have an echo.... In so much space.

Nothing has turned out as we expected. It never does. Life's under no obligation to give us what we expect. We take what we get and are thankful it's no worse than it is.

I have no fear of that so I guess it's different for me.
Then again im the kind of person that will do drugs....safly with ample risk managment, and instead of enjoying the "high" I analyze it. I burn a memory of what I feel like before hand then try to "overcome" the effects of the drug by bring that memory into play. I have been successful as far as pot is concerned in stopping my "high"

I love experimenting with perception and consciousness.

Bringing my self as close to sleep as posible while maintaining consciousness then analyzing the differences.

I guess im just weired that way lol.

Consciousness and perception is a bit of an obsession with me.

I have never done any serious drugs as of yet.

I have known more then a few with this condition and as scary as it was when they get the right meds and there life back on track they are left intrigued by there former condition.

Some are left with "gifts" like the ability to visualise anything they want with the crystal clarity of real life.

"Imagine being in both the real world and one of your imagination"

that's possible without having all the other problems that go along with a mental health problem.

Probably the side effects from the meds that give them a "gift"

Not with the crytal claity of real life.

For example creating a world in you mind that not only is visually perfect in your minds eye but actually feeling the wind on your skin.

Basicly it's more like being able to put yourself in a dream world as real as the most lucid dream but still maintaining consciousness and therefor being able to controle it.
