I think I'm developing eczema after 25 eczema-free years I have rough patches of skin on my face that sometimes itch a little, and hurt after I've washed my face. It literally only developed about a week ago, almost overnight!

Interestingly, my diet has changed a bit. I've been eating a lot more slightly stodgy stuff lately.

Do you think it really is eczema?

Have you changed soaps?

Could you be allergic to your new foods?

Nope, I've been using the same facial wash and soap for ages!

I don't think I'm allergic to the foods. It's stuff I've eaten before, but there's just a sudden upswing in how much more often I'm eating them (things like home made chips, jacket potatoes, burgers, noodles, chicken kievs). Great, now I'm hungry I used to eat salads a lot, but I've given up on those cos I never feel full afterwards, but I'm still eating a good amount of fruit and veg.

You really aren't

My sis gets it sometimes when she's stressed so I asked her about it and she said it could be. I might go to the doctor and get a proper diagnosis! I need to switch doctors anyway - I finally have proof of address and proof of person at the same time, so I finally can!!!

Eczema runs in my family but thankfully I escaped it! I just have dry skin It's probably best to see your doctor, if it is eczema it's best to get it under control, my brother gets really badly sometimes.

My dad has eczema and asthma on his side of the family, so I thought I'd escaped it too The joke is, I have oily skin so I usually need products that balance that out, which I'm guessing is probably not good for eczema. Just my luck! I will definitely go to the doctor's this week Might do it tomorrow, actually - I'm only in uni for 2 hours.

If it runs in your family it's definitely worth going, just to make sure

I definitely will. It's starting to annoy me. My list of things to do this week is getting longer and longer!

I know quite a few people with skin issues, like really sensitive skin or eczema. I'm wondering if it's becoming more common or something.

Yay!

Sometimes meds are almost as bad as the actual problem! when my housemate was ill, she read out the side effects of the tamiflu drug. almost as bad as not taking it!
