If continents just get further away from each other, then what is causing the ends of some of them to "morph" and "move" to get in to a more fitting position?

Magic?

They conveniently fail to explain how or why the Earth is getting bigger. It would have to be getting less dense, but seismic surveys indicate that Earth is still extremely dense, especially at its core. If it was shrunk, its gravity would make it inhospitable. And no oceans would mean no rain and no marine life.

How about some billions of years ago, a huge ice ball crashed into Earth, splitting the land, lopping off a chunk making our moon, changing our orbital orientation / spin, getting us closer to our sun, melting the ice, making the oceans / weather. The water has germs in it creating life as we know it now.

What does it matter how we got here? Isn't it more important to focus on where we are headed?
