Music is about what people like. For some reason emo seems to be really popular now so as long as people like it it will last. I don't like it personally, but obviously a lot of people do.

well they're ruining the music sounds like a type of hate there. I'm personally not into Emo music so I just don't listen to it and turn what I prefer on.

The only thing I hate is that emo trys to claim to be punk, which it is not. Emo is all about commercialism, the exact opposite of what punk stands for (or at least to stand for). As long as they stop claiming to be punk, they can listen to what ever crap they want to.

actually... i think emo came from as a genre of punk, in like the 80s. although it is way commercialized. though personally, i like some emo music (punk is still better.)

the reason everyone hates emo is because emos act like dickheads (either all stereotype deppressy or quiet). Like lupinstar said i think there are some gems in the genre and some are just wasting space.

I think this topic shows how we sohlud actually just be positive about the genre's we do like and let the people who like the one's we dont have there opinion. I dont like modern rap, but that doesnt mean that i ram that opinion down people's throught's nor does it mean that im blind to the the success of the genre and its artists.
