I heard it could either mean "you hate" Or "You have" I heard the song before though..

The whole song is a play on German wedding vows (Wollt Ihr einander lieben und achten und die Treue halten, bis da** der Tod euch scheide? - Do you want to love and respect each other and to remain faithful, until death separates you?). Instead of answering with "Ja" (yes), the singer says "Nein" (no) , finally answering the question he said "nothing" to in the beginning.

The title is commonly interpreted as "You have", but is really a long play on words: du hast means "you have", while du hasst, spelled differently but pronounced the same, means "you hate". The pun is illustrated by a comparison of the German version, a literal English translation, and the band's non-literal English version of the song."

Well, actually i have studied german ein bischen. Du hast is the first part of the whole statement du hast mich gefragt. you have asked me. und ich hab(e) nichts gesagt. and i have said nothing. for the meaning of the whole song just read unspoken's post.

Maybe Du Hast ain't their best songs, they really have some bunch other good songs, try searching them, they are very good

Actually, I don't think Du Hast was a very good song by them. I mean, sure, that's how most Amerikans found out about Rammstein, but for us here in Europe, it was just another one of their songs, that made them widely known. So on my part, it's not the best song Till ever wrote. But it is up there ^_^
