In the states they are raising the driving age to 18 as well. Before it was 16. The drinking age was and still is 21. But here in Brasil you drive and drink at 18.
I was kind of bummed spending my 21st birthday here in Brasil. In the states I would have gone to a bar with friends and gotten hell drunk. But here in Brasil it wasnt a big deal.

Lots of people smoke weed, but it's a lot less than if it were legal. Lots of people under 21 in the US drink, but it's a lot less - and, most importantly, much less public and obvious - than if the drinking age were 18.

Raising the drinking age to 21 would seriously cut down on the number of 18 and 19 year olds getting drunk in public, hanging out in bars, etc.

"And the problem that we have is we see people as they belong to certain groups and that they derive their rights as belonging to groups. We don't get our rights because we're gays or women or minorities. We get our rights from our creator as individuals."

no i wouldnt have been, but i also didnt start fights, or throw up on the street even at 14! but now i cant get served without id, anywhere

Its the rumor in Oklahoma. I've been out country for a while now but I believe my little sister mentioned not being able to get her license until she was 18.

It bugs me that irresponsible people spoil stuff for the people that can drink alcohol without needing a date with a stomach pump

i just thaught this was sooo neccesary to this conversation... but in my house we dont have regular glasses we use kronenbourg pint glasses just thaught you auta know

yep, i've never been in an alcohol related fight, i've also never been in a real fight, i had like 2 fights with girls at school when i was like 13, but they werent really bad fights it was more teenage hormones running amock in an all girls school, and there was a bit of pushing and slapping.

it's unfair, but i guess thats life.

I'm all I'll ever be and all I can do is try...

it would for the 14 year olds, but it just increases the amount of people drinking underage, because if they put the age up i'd still try to buy alcohol illegally, I don't deny it at all and I did for 3/4 years before being legally allowed to! Same as i did for cigarettes!

the way it is over here there would just be 18/19/20 year olds sat on street corners drinking cider!
