Given the number of drunken, out of control teenagers you see staggering around town centers on a night out in the UK, I'm not surprised they are thinking of raising the drinking age.

Unfortunately a highly visible group of young people have shown themselves to be completely incapable of drinking responsibly.

It's easier to tell that a 14 year old is under 21, than under 18.

itt wont help alchohol is easy to come by hell i was nearly sold alchohol once (no im not sneaky like that i thaught it was an energy drink)

To be honest I don't see how raising the legal ages to smoke and drink will do anything, there's always going to be people who will buy cigarettes and alcohol for younger people.

this is true, but theres the think 21 scheme in place, which is actually doing some good..I used to get away with going out drinkin at 14/15 and the increase in asking for id and security is amazing! even at the places i used to go to will ask everyone for id. I think it should be a legal requirement to show id no matter how old they are!
