In the original plot, he supposedly originated from the center of the earth. It started from his childhood when he was a normal kid, but then his evil father a sorcerer, cast a spell on him turning him into a bat/human therefore a vampire. In fear that his son would tell of his diabolical plot, the father took the boy and threw him into the pit of a volcano to be cursed and bound in fire forever more. Now 800 years later he rises from the depths of the underworld with vengence, seeking blood from those innocent and corrupt alike. Sometimes I laugh at this original plotline but I am currently creating a new one.
With a plot like that, Vampirio might be a great name.
But "Jim" might be even better.

Personally, I think the names are one of the most important things in any story. Vampirio doesn't seem like a great name at all, no offense, but it is slightly corny. Maybe you could find some word that pertains to vampires in another language? Or even relates to fire? Or even some words that together sound cool, and mean something? For example, In latin I believe lamia means vampire, Prognatus means born from/sprung from, and Aduro means fire. Maybe some combination of these words together could make a pretty sweet name and have the meaning vampire born from fire? Since he has to do with the center of the earth and volcanoes.
