I am starting on a new story about vampires. Do you think that Vampirio or Vampyrio would be a good name, or is it already taken?

possibly an acceptable vampire superhero name also lol.
you're best of just going with an interesting name from the period he comes from,
like all those rockin anne rice victorian guys.

like its a name, who calls their kid vampiro?

He's actually supposed to be the main antagonist of the story. Is Vampirio corny or does it sound masculine?

It's a bit like naming a goldfish "Fishy" isn't it?

That name causes me to envision a heavy-set Italian, dressed in vampire-costume, selling tickets for a ride on the ferris-wheel!

Why don't you stray a bit from names that directly involve being a vampire?

No one who wants to be taken seriously names a feline protagonist Fluffy or Scratchy.

Vampirio and The Fang are only good vampire names if you're doing a comedic vampire spoof or something.

Do you think Interview With a Vampire would have sold as many copies if the main characters were named The Fang and Bloodsucker instead of Louis and Lestat?
