If a black person refers to white cops as rednecks, is that a racist remark?? I am confused as to weather redneck is a racist term.

Where I come from Rednecks refers to an embaressed person.

No i don't think so...'cause rednecks, if i understand it, is a term for people from a certain kind of rural town in the south of the US! ANd because it's not a genralisation against all white people who are, kinda ratially the same as rednecks then it's not racist...I'ts despising someone's cla** and lifestyle!!

i'd hesitate to say racist, its not directed at a race as a whole.

its more a stereo type that incorporates a certain attitute. but yeah sure its an insult aimed at a certain group.

Redneck isn't really a racist term, I don't think. And I also think that people who are rednecks don't really care if you call them that.
