I don't particularly like exercising so I was thinking of taking a dance class to keep fit. What type of dance would be best for this? Is this as good as regular exercise?

I would think it would be one of the best exercises as you're using your whole body. My daughter's doing hip-hop and jazz but apparently Salsa and other Latin stuff is good too.

AAH! Don't say that. I can just imagine my daughter coming home from hip-hop in plaster from the neck down.

I think maybe a hip-hop or tango dance class would be good. Swing maybe too :] Dancing is always so much fun, and when you have fun with it, you don't even realize that you're exercising. I used to do jazz and ballet dancing, and I used to be a lot more in shape than I am now. Sadly, the pricing got too expensive and I ended up having to drop out, but it really was a cool experience.

Street Dance = hip hop so I agree too! Also my friend does Jive and Lindy hop and they're pretty rigorous and fast paced.

I'd say learn black metal drumming. There is NO WAY you could not lose weight by doing that. Really builds up stamina as well.

But then again, it's not for everyone lol

Zumba is awesome

I do zumba, step aerobics and cardio twice a week.

But I also am taking Caribbean, salsa, and meringue dance classes and its sooooo much fun! And its defnietly a workout, more than other things I might add.

And its fun, with good music that you forget its about getting fit. I'm going to my second official class tonight. So excited.

But I don't find exercises boring or hard. I like exercising, I think its just a matter of finding what you enjoy. I like group fitness classes, and they can be anything from boxing, zumba, step aerobics, weight training etc it doesn't matter, as long as I'm in a group I have fun, enjoy it, and push myself harder than if I work out by myself. I also like sports and dancing, but again its with people. I don't enjoy working out by myself and while I can push my self to work out it everyday, its just that I don't push myself a litter harder each time so that I'm not at a standstill.

The only thing i don't like its bike spinning, uhh what a horrible form of exercise (though its prob cause i hate it )
