I can't crochet for s***. My step mother taught my youngest daughter to crochet one summer while she was there on vacation. My daughter is really good at it now she has made all kinds of tie dyed purses and stuff. She gets crochet books from hobby lobby and wal-mart and learns all the latest patterns.

My grandmother started teaching me when I was 6. I kept it up on and off for years. I'm a teacher with certification in Library Media (K-12), Elementary Ed., and Language Arts. So guess what I ended up teaching - Art (6-12) in a special school for pregnant and unwed mothers. I dedicated a semester each term to crochet. Since I have diabetes, I only crochet in yarn now. There are a great many websites with patterns.

If you're looking for some great crochet patterns you should check out "Crochet Stitches in
Motion" and "Crochet Fashions in Motion"...i got these two DVD's from amazon and used
them a lot when i was recovering from surgery and learned soooo much and had a lot of
fun with the stitch-along project ideas
