yes, but is there anything positive that comes out of this? 100,000 dollars seems awfully
high! does this not increase your homes value at selling!?

No it doesn't. The only thing that increases value is someone willing to pay what you're asking. Considering the house next door is bigger and nicer and the asking price is lower than the valuation of mine according to the assessor, there's nobody that would pay that much for it. Maybe in 10 years or something, but not today.

So, the county assessor thinks my house is worth $100,000 more than I paid for it 9 months ago!

And, um, the houses around here haven't been going up in price. The assessor must have been smoking crack.

Tell them that crack is bad and maijuana gives you a better trip.

oh, ok, i thought that sometimes it was part of the determination of the selling price, like if a
house is assessed at 100,000 for example then you times that amount by say 2 and a half or
three for an idea of its possible selling price> 250, 000, or 300,000! if not then i would def
make some phone calls asap!

Yeah, it would be nice if the assessor could do that!

Property taxes are based on it. I don't want to pay an extra $1,000 a year because the assessor has been hitting the crack pipe.

The property taxes have been going sky high here where I am because there has been a few of new people coming in and buying up pasture land and building big expensive homes on it,,the problem is that there is not enough water to support these homes so the banks now own these houses and the new people have moved back to town. But the property values have been raised so what was accessed as pasture land at a few dollars an acer is now residential and accessed at a few hundred dollars an acer.

If your gonna go, go like hell, If your minds not made up, Dont use your SPURS !!
