AHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, haven't I noticed that the retail price of homes in the States have depreciated by about 20 % since that wonderful M&L scandal?--- The houses I looked at in FA have reduced by about a third in value?

Having a House= Expensive 2 me. my roomie/partner owns the house I live in and constantly bitching about this that and the other thing, it is a hefty expense, and to top the cake comes the property taxes which is paid monthly, rather than yearly.
I ahve owned 4 houses in Canada and have made a profit on each one.
It's about the only way a person can ama** a small fortune and not pay tax on it. (In Canada)
The taxes are unwelcome and the mortgage system in Canada sucks lemons but the fact remains that, since about 1939, if you buy a house and maintain it you will maka about 10 to 15 % a year on the principle.
Pay mortgage and taxes for ( 3 br house) 60 months 60X800 = 48,000.
Your house has appreciated by about 50,000
Pay rent for (1 br apt 60 months 60X800 = 48,000
Your rent has been appreciated by the landlord who collects your rent because his apartment is now worth about 25,000 bux more and your rent is going up to 950.00/mo | | | Edited: February 19, 2008 @ 03:00

market
yes, but is there anything positive that comes out of this? 100,000 dollars seems awfully
high! does this not increase your homes value at selling!?
