Hey guys....
I have had the implanon contraceptive implant in for a year or so now, but have recently been getting really bad PMT.
I have been getting seriously emotional every month and was wondering if anybody else has experienced this.
Other than that there have been no adverse effects.
Bless my boyfriend however who puts up with the hours of crying and just offers hugs and kisses as necessary!
Thanks!

How long do you have the implant in?

I don't know much about implants sorry but I know that certain contraceptive pills turn me into an emo.

Maybe talk to your doctor about trying a new form of contraception. Depression is one of the rare side effects.

Or you could try taking evening primrose tablets when your feeling like an emo, they can help boost your mood and they don't interact with the implanon.

i'm just glad i don't have to deal with that kind of stuff,
well any more than vicariously,
maybe i'm wrong but our moods don't seem as affected by hormones.

It isn't really depression, it is just an overwhelming urge to cry... I give in to it and once its done I feel back to my normal mad hatter state... I just don't want to keep crying infront of Matt - he will develop a complex, lol

Thats how I get right before my period. I cry over stupid things (once I actually cried over spilt milk).

Try taking evening primrose tablets. They may help. They help me sometimes.
