Confirmed: Gunman Was an Anti-Trump Leftist

66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson, the gunman who targeted Republican lawmakers during an attempted massacre this morning, has been confirmed as a Bernie Sanders-supporting leftist who called Trump a “traitor” and wanted to destroy him.

Congressman Steve Scalise was shot this morning in a politically motivated “targeted attack” by a leftist who deliberately sought out Republicans.

The shooting took place during a practice for the GOP congressional baseball team in Alexandria, Virginia. The suspect was shot by Scalise’s security detail and is now in custody. Other reports say he was killed.

“He had a rifle that was clearly meant for the job of taking people out, multiple casualties, and he had several rounds and magazines that he kept unloading and reloading,” said Michigan Rep. Mike Bishop.

“Scalise, a member of the House Republican leadership as the majority whip, appeared to have been shot in the hip and it appeared two Capitol Hill police agents were shot, according to Rep. Mo Brooks,” reports CNN.

According to CNN analyst Rebecca Berg, the gunman had a conversation with Rep. Jeff Duncan before the shooting began in which he asked, “Are those Republicans or Democrats out there practicing?”

According to RSC Chair Rep. Mark Walker, who was at the scene, the gunman, “Was there to kill as many Republican members as possible.”

This strongly suggests that the shooting was a terrorist attack carried out by an anti-Trump leftist.

“I think we’re lucky that Scalise was there because this was his security detail, without them it would have been a massacre,” said Senator Rand Paul, who was at the scene when the shooting happened.

All kidding aside, the guy actually was an anti-Trump leftist and kind of obsessed with Bernie Sanders.

But this is the direction I knew it was going to go with a lot of people on the right. Because one short circuited nutball on the left did something horrible and wrong we can't paint all of the left with the same brush. It's as ridiculous as it would be for someone on the left to do it to the right.

Sometimes mentally unstable people do f***ed up things...it doesn't mean that Bernie Sanders (I'm not a Sanders supporter) had anything to do with it or is at all to blame.

It may have been politically motivated, but the guy clearly also had some loose wiring and his lack of mental health is really what caused the s***ty action he took.

So now we have a GOP lawmaker, Steve King, blaming Obama for the shooting.

Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, he pinpoints this blame upon the divisive climate that Obama apparently fostered, saying it led to this lunatic's actions. Never mind, of course, that such hypocritically retarded statements as his, even if it were accurate, is in itself divisive.

Aside from the obvious tragedy of the situation, this is why I cringe whenever people like the shooter go off on the Republicans, and bury my head in shame when people like Kathy Griffin and Bill Maher lose their cool and say something without thinking. Because, not only is what they do tasteless and despicable, but it adds fuel to the fire for idiots like the above Steve King and Rush Limbaugh and gives everybody reason to hate liberals as a whole, defeating the entire mission of those on the left genuinely trying to fight the important issues. And this is even true of those who jump at any chance, even though the investigation is not anywhere near complete and zero charges have been filed, to call for President Trump's impeachment.

The Democrats and their supporters really need to think twice on everything they say and take the high road on waiting this out, sticking to the important issues and facts. Then at least when Trump and the rest of the GOP self-destructs (and, believe me, they will) the left will have earned the respect of voters, rather than their ire thanks to a few individuals.
