I translated this story into Spanish about an American school girl who goes to Washington, DC with a group of students. I hope that people who read Spanish will tell me if it makes sense.

Párrofo Número Uno

Conchi fue a Washington, la capital de los Estado Unidos en mayo de 1983. Se llama Conchi, corto para Conchita, pero a veces, ella se llama a sí misma Ishmaelina, porque ella ha sido la de satisfacer las Leviatán. La madre de Conchi, tomó un puñado de estudiantes de escuela secundaria para ver la capital, arriba cercano y personal.

El avión despegó con dos horas de retraso del aeropuerto de Los Angeles. De modo de pasar el tiempo los estudiantes hicieron parodias. El grupo de Conchi hizo un club sándwich. Su hermano hizo mayonesa. Conchi hizo tocino. Si bien la fritura sentar en el suelo, ella pensaba acerca de cómo esperaba ver a su padre en el capital. El guardia de seguridad pensaba que ella estaba teniendo un ataque. Fue totalmente vergonzosa.

En la capital el primer día, Conchi se levantó a las cuatro de la madrugada, por lo que podría hacer el pelo. Los estudiantes iban a la cafetería en la Universidad William and Mary para el desayuno. Mientras que comían huevos y tocino y papas, ellos han practicado un parodia Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Ellos hicieron la escena en la que Richard Burton dice a Elizabeth Taylor que la pequeño está muerto. Conchi desempeñaba a Liz. Su hermano desempeñaba a Richard.

“Él está muerto,” dijo el hermano.

“No,” dijo Conchi.

"Él está muerto. Yo le digo muerto,” dijo el hermano.

"No, no, no," gritó Conchi. "No, no, no." Ella bajó la bandeja, y las placas se rompió en el suelo. Todo el mundo miraba.

“¿Qué pasó?” dijo el hermano.

Párrafo Número Cuarto

En el campo de batalla de Yorktown, la madre de Conchi dijo que los colonos británicos llegaron a Virginia en 1607. Le dijo a los estudiantes a recordar esa fecha. La batalla de Yorktown finalizó la Guerra de la Revolución en 1781, y las antepasados del padre de Conchi lucharon en la batalla. Los estudiantes cantaron La Marsellesa como en Rick's Place en Casablanca, y luego iban de compras. Durante el almuerzo ellos comparación cosas, Conchi comía una ensalada y tomaba una soda.

El Museo de Jamestown tuvo tres casas de la India, y el guía le dijo al estudiantes que si una mujer contrae matrimonio con un hombre, él vivió con la familia de ella. La mujer se aseguró de que el marido se comportó. Si ellas sentía que él no vivía la forma de vida que quería, ella los envasía todos de sus pertenencias, y ella se puso fuera de la casa. Entonces el marido sabría a no entrar y tomar sus cosas a su mamá y papá. El hermano de Conchi dice que las mujeres tienen idea cortecta. Si las mujeres eligen los hombres buenos, entonces no habría hombres malos. EL hermano de Conchi era feminista.

I think Britney rewrote the story, but I think their great grandmother wrote it more than twenty years ago when their parents went to Washington. I have the story because I sometimes stay with the great grandmother to be sure she eats and takes her medicine. She's a total hoot, and she wrote lots of stories. How did you know about Britney?
