Simon Cowell is the big man when it comes to slapping down young up and coming entertainers but he didn't have the balls to tell it as it was on the night.

What sort of emaple are they giving to the next generation of entertainers?

I haven't seen a line of it, pardon the pun, in the media.
I suppose we have to wait until he crashs and burns before the media will make a comment.

If I understand the format of the show, the judges are not meant/allowed to critique guest performers. So it has nothing to do with balls.

Hmm they gave comments on Alexandra Burke's performance, but that may have just been because she won the show last year.

Even if he was doing it, It's not as if most singers are not doing coke as well! You would be suprised at what goes on behind the scenes.

He can, but he could also be sued for breach of contract (guest performers of course always sign contracts before performing in this way), he could be boycotted by artist groups, he could be dropped by advertisers and music labels (imagine if no contestant could sing or perform anything owned by Sony), and he could just in general be ostracized and blacklisted by the industry if he were to be harsh and critical with guests.

If someone came to your house and smelled bad, you could say "holy s***, you stink like a pig." It is your house, after all. But he could leave and not come back and tell all of your friends what an a*****e you were to your guest.

I'm not at alll surprised but I am disgucted that the shows owners didn't have the balls to stop him going on in front of the whole country and being praised as some role model when he was obviously out of his face.
