Any other wind players come across one of these before? I'm considering getting one as it is quite cheap for a horn, but little things seem a bit odd.
A 33cm (1 foot) instrument, taking a tenor reed? It looks out of proportion. I can't find a fingering chart anywhere but it looks like an odd one to get 2 chromatic octaves on, unless, like the recorder, you use half holes. They always give indefinite pitch though.
From the store:

Quote:
This black clarisax is a cross between a clarinet and a saxophone, and sounds like a cross between a Clarinet and a Saxophone.

SPECIAL PRICE ~~ $34.95

Blowing a reed instrument such as the clarisax may require tuition if you have never played a reed instrument before.

This black clarisax is a cross between a clarinet and a saxophone, and sounds like a cross between a Clarinet and a Saxophone.

This Clarisax takes a tenor saxophone reed (a size 2.5 saxophone reed is supplied).: Other size tenor saxophone reeds can be fitted. It also includes a protective reed cover, and comes attractively housed in its own zip-up vinyl carry bag for protection and storage.
It is a great way to give any student the opportunity to that musical experience that every person should have.

Features:
* One piece Clarisax
* Fits in your Backpack
* Length:33cm
* Made from high quality hardened ABS plastic (easy to clean)
* Includes: Reed and Ligature
* Colour: Black
* Key in C, it's sounding range is from middle C to 2 octaves above middle C
* Zip-up vinyl storage bag
