On specific topics, yes.

In a broader sense relative to one's life, no.

A man who believes he can and a man who believes he cant.
Both are almost certain to be correct.
It comes down to certainty and belief about yourself.

No.

Doubt is the backdrop upon which all bits of faith are planted.

There is no need to teach doubt. It comes with pain and mistrust, both of which we get plenty of starting from birth.

"Without faith it is impossible to please God" says the scriptures--that's because faith (the opposite of doubt) is assigned to us supernaturally--outside of the normal every day world.

Is that not what confidence is though.

Ok I have pondered on this. If you had a COMPLETE lack of self doubt I guess that would be called insanity. And you really would be a god.

We have a lot of oppurtunities in life. Bit life is short. I dont think it is possible to master everything.

It is possible to master a few things. But its depth vs width.

Is a complete lack of doubt possible?

In a Cartesian sense, yes.

But you know that already.

Yes. Just look at sandrocksonic and his devotion to infowars.

Maybe my brain has taken a nap but I can't crank this question like the others.

One easy answer is that I doubt with absolute certainty that I will be doing nothing a split second from now other than trying to finish this sentence.

But I don't think that is what you're getting at.

Oh..here we go

How about a complete lack of doubt is dangerous even if possible.

Whether we doubt or not we can still be wrong. The Law of Attraction/The Secret people will try and say different but I can't neither confidently have faith in nor completely doubt those ideas which might turn out wrong; even if only wrong for some of us.

EB: ...a complete lack of doubt is dangerous even if possible.

E: I agree that a complete lack of doubt is dangerous and I would add it is also useless. Without doubt there would never be any progress.

E: Many times I have enjoyed the hubris of been absolutely certain and many times it has turned out that I was wrong. With experience, I think, we learn to accept the possibility that we may be wrong.

E: yes, the key word seems to be 'complete'.
