Women don’t seem to be as able to relax as easily as men. I think that women equate relaxation with laziness and certainly view the non productive activities of their men folk as such. For instance, at sports games, is it 50/50 or are there a LOT more men there than women? Women obviously have trouble taking it easy. What do you think?

although an opposing viewpoint exists throughout many parts of the world, there isn't a place on earth where we don't teach a woman to be proud of herself for basically being a servant.

and that's in places where the idea has the weakest following, where you can go to the grocery store and find several books (again, in a store not made to sell books) on how a woman can learn to submit more, (first to god, and finally) to her man.

i am okay with the idea, as long as it's mutual, except that it isn't. i mean a couple should be happy to let their guard down around each other, and do everything to make each other happy.

no woman should have a true master, it's no more fit than for a man. i don't have anything against butlers, nannies, and maids, of course. but here in the united states, we certainly continue to teach women to be in our employ, even if they are otherwise "independent." it's enough to make anyone restless even if they do not know why, and men would have the same attitude if they all had the same treatment.

sports games I think are 50/50 I live with a couple of housemates. One male, one female. They both do sports and the guy is ten times more "lazy" than the girl. He will complain about the mess and not do a thing, she'll do something about it, even when shattered. I'm prone to lazy spells yet I make up for it by blitzing the house and doing things when I have a sudden urge! My partner relaxes a lot, he's not so much lazy or anything though he is very laid back.

Going back to your post, you'd be surprised at how many men are liable to use the word "relax" to cover up their laziness! Men and women are just as bad as eachother in my opinion. We both have moments or "relaxation" and "lazy" phaszes....so don't even think about saying that all women become "lazy" when they want to "relax".

I think a few women would have a few things to say about that matter!

in fairness, it's a tough pill to swallow.

i would point out what's at stake here:

for one, we have the issue of justice itself. as long as women are taught to be servants (even if they rightly fight against such an idea) we have a caste system not so much unlike the one in india that we scoff at, feeling so very superior to that kind of thinking, when it is alive and well here.

the karma ( or whatever you call it in your religion, atheists call it "justice" and christians call it "judgement." ) of such an injustice is something we all share, and it has us living in a world that is unfair to everyone.

the other thing is that a master and servant* cannot possibly love each other as fully or beautifully as equals. to dominate is to cheat yourself out of a deeper love. as long as we can do better than that, really we should. (*i meant literally, but if anyone is going to go there, i have an answer for that too.)

I couldn't be in a relationship with a woman who felt the need to "serve" me. Housewifey women just don't seem very attractive to me.

I think society really needs to change. Women are not their for the pleasure of men, they are our equals.


And any man who thinks its ok to laze around whilst some poor woman is rushing around deserves to be single.

The only reason (in my opinion) you may think that women don't relax as much as men, is because women don't use relaxing as a way to cover up their laziness, and men tend to just shrug a problem off when women tend to think about it, yes most of the time its not logically and they make a mountain out of a mole hill. Women relax all the time, I have yet to find a woman that cannot relax.

People don't want to examine their relationships too much, they might find something that they didn't like. Better to present a perfect relationship to the outside world. These forums are a pefect example, I'm not saying you guys are lying, I'm just saying that there is a little too much "we have a happy balance, we've got the life". You protest too much. Amish and I remain unconvinced.......

I think you're wrong. I never have any problems with relaxing, and I don't know any women who do. And I don't think you can use sport as a good example, because women are generally less sporty than men, and care less about sport.
