My girlfriend has a Powerbook G4 and a CD got stuck in the drive! We've tried all the suggestions available via Google. Conclusion? The CD drive on the Powerbook G4 is a terrible design.

Don't try that. It's impossible to get them back together again.

I've personally broken two of the "conventional" thin drives where the lens is mounted on the drawer itself. Those things are fragile. I've always preferred slot-loaders.

Percussive maintenance. That's the key.

Threaten to network it with a group of Windows '98 PCs if it doesn't give it back. That'll put wind up any Mac. Or Mac owner for that matter.

if Im not mistaken, on MOST CD drives, there should be like a little pin hole there, and if you take a needle or maybe a paperclip, you should be able to insert it to the little hole and push the drive open...IF We're speaking of regular computer CD Drive.....

OK, I'm working on the assumption now that you've tried all the sane ideas that aren't going to damage the machine.

Have you tried needle nose pliers?

what about inside the door cabinet, checked inside of that to see if there's a place to do that? I've seen a few that are inside the door cabinet but it's kinda rare tho.
