Bono and his humanitarian work...he's perfectly capable of not caring 'cause he dosn't act unselfishly all the time...just when he want's too. So he's not sincere...If you are trying to act like you care then you can't behave as if you don't care...say by having a good time singing you're songs. YOu've got to care 24/7 365 or you're just being a fake...and Bono doesn't always act unselfishly so he's a fake...He doesn't do humanitarian stuff for the ppl who need help...He does it for himself...
For what it's worth i do thing he's a decent guy but i feel emotionally blackmailed by him and that p.'s me off.

You're saying that millions of dollars of aid and countless hours spent campaigning for aid and raising awareness are absolutely worthless unless you never, ever do anything else except humanitarian aid.

That's not what i'm saying i'm saying that because they do that they can't give s**t to ppl who don't. Unless they're making sacrifices that are unselfish...and Bono isnt! ANd they can't try and make ppl feel guilty about not caring...I mean how easy it is it for Bono to enjoy himself while ppl are starving to death...the ans. is very easy!!So, he doesn't really care...Would he go on stage and perform if his own kids were starving to death???

So because I can laugh and have fun, play tennis and enjoy life I don't REALLY care about the suffering in the world? The causes I support, that's just bulls**t because I can still have a life? That's like saying to your kid: Eat your peas. There are kids starving in China. The kid in China is still gonna starve whether you eat your peas or not. Humanitarian workers mourning every day isn't going to change the reality of the world, but their efforts WHEN THEY MAKE THEM, will.

SO why do they do it, that's what i wanna know? If they can put it to one side when they want to do something for themselves...Why aren't they selfish all the time...Is it just 'cause they are afraid of being critisised if they don't and that's just another e.g of my point that it's all about being basically selfish!!!ANd trying to get moral authority over 'selfish' people!!Yes, like me!!!

1) Who cares, as long as they do it?

2) Maybe they want to make the world a better place, but don't want to devote every second of their lives to other people?

And imagine that, people like Bono and Bill Gates and everyone who donates a couple hundred bucks a year to the Jimmy Fund are like that.

Under your reasoning, no one would ever donate anything to any charity - ever - unless they are willing to devote their entire lives to it.

If you feel guilty for not helping people, there is an obvious solution that doesn't involve attacking the people who do help others.

You're the jerk who looks at the Boy Scout helping an old woman across the street and says "Ugh. Look at that kid. He's just wearing that uniform and helping that old lady so he gets attention."
