Since there is a "best album of all time" thread, there needs to be a "biggest FAILS of all time thread" since Metal is about seeing results and eliminating the weak. So post ONE and ONLY one album that you think is the biggest Metal turd ever, and I'm not talking about a "floater".

My vote is for Slayer's Divine Intervention. Any teenage Pantera groupie could have written this.

I can't think of a fail album.
Sure there are some songs which I don't approve or like, but I don't consider them as a fail.

I dunno about a fail album but surely Metallica's moans about Napster is a fail?

I honestly don't know about all time. Most recently for me, it was 5FDP's new album. :/ that sucked.

No offense, but I think that all-inclusive PC attitude has no place in Metal. I think there is such a thing as "fails" in Metal and it occurs either when a otherwise quality and influential band no longer has anything to say, or runs out of ideas, or gets jealous of s***ty bands receiving praise and success and sinks to the lowest common denominator, as in the case of Metallica.
Edit: This was to Asmodeusgirl.

I could have just said Metallica's S/T (black) album but that would be too easy. Cold Lake by Celtic Frost is another one. That must have been their "Hey! Look at us! We can play cheesy arena hair metal too!" phase.

Yeah pretty much fails in metal are usually when bands sell out.

That would probably be the Tacoma Narrows bridge in 1940.

Iron Maiden's No Prayer for the Dying, especially the song Holy Smoke. That was a huge disappointment.

In terms of albums?

Reload. I would have said St Anger, but after Reload they could have s*** in my stereo and I wouldn't have been surprised.

Yeah I'm not sure what started to happen to Maiden there, though a few songs on that album are fun in a weird campy kinda way.

I'm kinda glad Bruce left shortly after that and did his own thing. His solo stuff was more metal than Maiden had been in a long time.

Harris and the folks got their s*** together and now everyone is happy and they're back to kicking ass.

Think you're thinking about megadeth here Dave Mustaine never stops whinging.

About the Napster situation Metallica were in good rights to be upset about what happened it's a lot of the fans in America that were fail and threw there toys out the pram made me like Metallica a whole lot more after that happened.
