what do you think is the best ska band ever? i think it is streetlight manifesto. what do you guys think?

Streelight is not that good. All they are are a updated version of Catch 22, with some new members. Quite frankly, "Keasby Nights" in itself is better than Streetlight. Also, What wave are we talking about? I mean, there is The Skatalites of the first wave, The Specials of the second, and Reel Big Fish of the Ska-Core age. thos would be my top picks.

I have to say that there are too many great ska bands to say that one is better then the others, because each ska band has its own individual style to it, and that is what makes ska so amaising.

the first ska song i heard was 'life of the party' by the planet smashers, and so for that life changing experience i would have to say them!

i do like this (now broken up) band called ask my cat, not famous but still pretty cool because the singer was a girl and so it was just a little different!

I'm sorry, but it seems many people who are in this forum haven't much of a clue what ska REALLY is. Less than jake was ska, but is no longer. the songs mentioned by them are in no way ska. those songs are rock with some horns. horns doesn't constitiute a ska band.

back to the original question, i like streetlight manifesto, and mustard plug. frankly, reel big fish, me first..., and less than jake doesnt it cut it to me as real ska... slm, catch 22, and others have unique sounds that DO constitute a real ska band.
