I know this is sort of random , but I need help with my physics project. I have to do a mythbusters-style investigation, where we have to build a device to bust a myth. I am thinking realy hard, but I can't think of any good myths to bust.

So if you could please list some movie moments where you think: "OMG THAT IS SO NOT POSSIBLE!" I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Here is one! In the film PAYBACK starring Mel Gibson,Gibson crept under a car and cut the gas line, he then stood behind the car smoking a cigarette,until the gangsters looked around. He then flipped the cigarette into the puddle of gas,naturally in the film the gasoline immediately exploded, destroying the car and all in it.
I am pretty sure the cigarette would just go out. But don't use a real car!

Look up science bytes on youtube and check out that channel. They make short videos debunking common misconceptions using theory. You could maybe pick up some inspiration there

This particular myth is not from a movie. It's from H.G. Wells's 'The Invisible Man'.

The protagonist changes his index of refraction to that of air so that light passes through him without being absorbed or reflected. If that were true, he'd be blind, since our eyes work by absorbing light. For more information you can go to:

I don't know how you could create a device for this experiment. Perhaps you could do something with a spectrometer (if your school has one)?

Don't have a specific movie in mind but a common myth is that alcohol can be used as a fire accelerant. It's a very crappy one because it generally burns up too fast for the fire to spread to another surface.
