It depends who I'm ringing.... I never leave a message for my bf coz I know he won't listen to it anyway, but everyone else I usually leave a message for... except for recently when I'm ringing my parents coz I'm low on minutes, so if I get the answerphone I hang up so they ring me back. Evil I know, but they're the ones who will tell me off if I go over my minutes, they still treat me like a child sometimes.

I hear ya, exactly the same here ! When I've got the money I'll pay it, and HOW I get money is GOING TO WORK ALL DAY EVERY DAY so if I'm not here when you call LEAVE A MESSAGE or I won't know who you are, and won't call you back....

I can't leave messages. I've been trying to call a shrink for a week, always goes to the message bank and says to leave one. I just hang up as I have no idea what to say.

I can leave business messages though.

I don't like to leave messages, usually I will call and if they don't pick up and I am calling a cell phone then I send a text message. As far as my home answering machine, I never answer my house phone, so I have it set to pick up after 1 ring. Most of my family and friends know this, so they call my cell. If my house rings, then it's usually a business.
