Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to be ignorant. But without animals (for the basis of our experiments) we'd be killing each other off one by one. So, animals are very important to us for that reason.

The question is worded wrong, what i want to know is why you think humans are more important.

sure animals are needed and important.

but as important or as advanced as us .
i couldn't say yes.
we are way more intelligent.
and physically, we are a very good all rounder.

I don't understand how intelligence has anyhting to do with it, or physically. Just as in an earlier post, as someone said, If aliens were to experiment on us...would you accept that? Because they are at the top of the hierarchy? (lmao i can't even spell the word)

if an more intelligent physically superior alien did do that to me and the human race i would be pissed.

but none the less that alien would be better then humans and hence it would see itself more importantly then humans

That seems like insanity to me. They are still human beings no matter what they did. To test expieramental anything on them would make you just as much of a monster as they were.

Nazi Germany tested drugs and other "cutting edge" medical practices on their death row inmates during WW2.

I say long live animal testing. In the big scheme of things, it doesn't really matter what happens to the lab animals, so long as it benefits humanity in the end.

but its fine to test it on animals whos only past deed may be to kill for food,why not humans there waiting to die and some for many years,i often see in newspapers people wanted to test a unlicienced product no difference really put that way,if anything disgustingly inhuman was done on one of your family or friends would you let the person go free after 5 yrs on death row because of the past deeds,if you can honestly say yes then your a better person than me cos i would want them to suffer in pain for the rest of their life.

When I was ten years old a man shot my uncle in the back of the head over a card game. It killed him instantly. That man did 12 years in prison and got out last summer. I do not want him to die for what he did, and I was very close to my uncle. He was like a surrogate father to me. Killing the man that killed my uncle would only compound the amount of grief that is already in this world. It is much better IMO that only one life was lost and that only one family had to suffer because of what happened.

Choosing to test an unliscensed product and being paid for it is far different from having it forced upon you. If we say that the on death row people are less than human and it is okay for us to expierament on them against their will, then who's next? Eventually all of the death row inmates would die from sideaffects, or old age. Then what?

EARTH FIRST! We'll strip-mine the other planets later.

i too have lost people because of someone else,i myself was physically and sexually abused by my father along with my sister,and mentally abused by my first husband that also included my kids,so i may appear cold i am not.

IMO humans are more important than animals because I am a human. If I were not a human then I am sure that I would feel differently.

The human genome is far from being completely understood.

Most viruses do no interact with the components of blood, they interact with organ systems. Working out a cure without huge side effects cannot be done without animal testing.

Ah ok, i disagree that we are more important but i am not against animal testing... Slightly odd

I work in nursing, and there is good ethical reason for animal testing. But I so have concerns about the conditions the animals are kept, how they are treated, what the actuall testing is. Years ago I worked for a lab that made rabies vaccinations. THe mice I took care of were treated very well, they ate better than I did, any signs of illness or being off were immediatly addressed. Any that had to be put down was down in very ethical manner, like I would do to my own pets. But not all labs that test on animals in world treat they animals in that manner.

No, you're not "totally" against it.

You're just a hypocrite.

Just because an animal breeds a lot more than others, doesn't make it any more or less wrong to use it for experimentation. Rats still have the capacity to feel fear, feel pain and suffer just as much as a rabbit, mouse or dog does.

If you were totally against animal testing, you would stop it with ALL Animals and not the ones you just like. Otherwise you're just embarrassing yourself.
