especially in terms of the thousand million thing.
its important for quantifications to be standardised, considering how small technology is making the world.
its why america should pick up the metric system fully
its a nutural evolution of language, no biggie, the concept of keeping a language pure from outside influences is laughable, its healthy in my opinion.
Wouldn't a million million be a trillion and not a billion? | | |

In the British "long scale,":
1,000,000 = one million
1,000,000,000 = one thousand million
1,000,000,000,000 = one billion
1,000,000,000,000,000 = one thousand billion
1,000,000,000,000,000,000 = one trillion
These are:
one million
one billion
one trillion
one quadrillion
one quintillion
On our "short scale"
In 1974, the British government officially abandoned the long scale, so, in ma** media and currency, their "billion" is the same as ours.
JMO is being silly and xenophobic.
