How come us British people are saying American words more and more, whilst the original British terms are dying out.

Like British people are calling them 'Cup Cakes'.

And now even on the BBC 1 Billion refers to A thousand million rather than a Million Million.

Why?

Because American culture and ma** media are so prevalent in the UK, and British culture is almost nonexistent here.

It's anoying really. I mean why the f**k is the BBC refering to 1000, million as a billion. In this country a Billion is a million million.

Isn't it easier to say a billion than a thousand million. If it helps, I like the term bloody brilliant.

A million million...

instead of basically saying a million more than a million we simplified it by just calling a "billion".

I mean cm'on...a million million...*slowly shakes my head*

Having a single word for the quantity 1,000,000,000 the way we have one for the quantities 1,000, 1,000,000, and 1,000,000,000,000 only makes sense.

Compare:

Thousand, million, billion, trillion, quadrillion, quintillion

with:

Thousand, million, thousand million, billion, thousand billion, million billion
