I've got a broad south Yorkshire accent, but that in itself is different from the North and west yorkshire ones.

I find accents very interesting.

I have mainly a North-East of Scotland accent (having lived here most my life). But according to a psychologist he can hear a hint of north English to my accent, which makes sence seeing as my Dad was brought up in Yorkshire.

One thing I find interesting is the difference between some accents. I honestly can't tell the difference between the Glaswegian accent and the Stirling one. Both sound weegie to me, but Glaswegians I know are convinced that they are entirely different.

What accent do you have, and what accents can you not tell the difference between?

I have a Falkirk accent, which is very similar to a Stirling accent but they are both totally different to the weegie accent. Trust me, full glaswegian is damn hard even for a Falkirk bairn to understand.

Thats what everyone tells me!

I can tell the difference between Glasweegian and Edinburger accents, but to me Stirling and Falkirk accents sound like Weegie's but not as strong.

Everyone from the area thinks im stupid and a sheepshagger...just because the first thing I said to them was "Fit Like?"

Apparently you don't say that down south.

Interestingly, all accents (with the exception of the cockney type accents) from the south of England sound posh to me.

I think I will stick with my Canadian Yorkshire accent.

Yeah, apparently alot of Americans and Aussies and the like can't tell the difference.

Alot of people can't tell the difference between scotish people and Irish people. I am a Scottish person, this me talking: Hi Hello how are you? This is an Irish person: Teedle-deedle-dee Potatoes.

Old joke, but I likes it.

To be honest, alot of the time when I speak to English people, i deliberately say the steriotypical scottish things.

Such as Och Aye the noo...I don't know anyone who says that whilst not taking the piss.

Scottish people are like the Irish when it comes to a good sense of humour and can laugh at themselves.

I am from east London and have a cockney accent, although i have moved around a bit and it isnt as strong as it was, i now live in bristol and can just about understand some of the stronger bristolian words.
My accent does make me stand out a bit, i sound like one of the cast from eastenders
