Yeah my 22" LCD monitor has a row of pixels which about 70% of are black it's not a solid line.
Any suggestions?

Do you have a different computer or laptop you can try it with?

If it does it on more than one computer it is bad pixels in the monitor, if it only does it on one computer, it is bad video ram.

Not at the moment, although some of them just turned TFS background colour if that helps.

Sounds like the monitor. Is it still under warranty?

I have no idea whatsoever.
I don't think that helps though huh.

Um.... a good smack might help.

You could try turning it off for a little while and letting it cool down, see if that helps.

It's almost certainly the monitor though.

OK, It's kinda lucky it broke now (if it did) because in two or three weeks I'm getting £300 of EMA (education maintenance allowance) money

You should at least check on the warranty. Who's the manufacturer?

If you were to change the desktop size, and the missing pixels remain in the same location, it is deffo the monitor. If they move, it is most likely video ram.

No need, i just tried to change to one of my many CRT monitors (i have about 6 of them) and it never worked, so i plugged this back in and the lines are gone.
I also discovered my VGA to DVI adapter is busted.
