So, a friend of mine is suffering from low body temperature. What could cause this? Simply being outside in the cold?

That sounds really low.

I don't know what body temperature hypothermia is at, but low temperature can't be good.

Does her temperature change according to the outside temperature?

poikilothermy, poikilothermism
the state or condition of being cold-blooded, as reptiles and other animals.

It could cause low body temperature and its i beleive a non life threating medical condition in some people.
