My mum used to make Ginger Wine when I was little using Friar Tucks Ginger Essence or Essence of Ginger which she bought in a chemist.

Unfortunately it cannot be got now, but does anyone know where it or something similar can be bought.

To make the wine you boiled water added loads of sugar and when the sugar was dissolved you added the ginger. When cooled you then bottled it. The longer it sat the stronger it got.

Unfortunately its non alcoholic, but it is great for colds and tummy upsets.

Can anyone please help me?
